From: Herman Miller (2005-10-11) Subject: Porcupines on Absynth Gene Ward Smith described a tuning on the tuning-math list that could be considered a sort of circulating 15-note scale; since I've recently been playing with Absynth 3 and retuning old MIDI files for practice, I decided to find out what the 15-ET Mizarian Porcupine Overture would sound like in this tuning. This is really pushing the limit of what my 5-year-old system can do in real time, but I think it turned out okay. Percussion is the Edirol VSC. http://home.comcast.net/~teamouse/porcupine-absynth-blackwood.mp3 Compare with the original 15-ET: http://home.comcast.net/~teamouse/porcupine-absynth.mp3 Here's the Scala file of the tuning: ! blackbeat15.scl Blackwood[15] with brats of -1 ! generator g is unique real root of 9g5+20g4+80g3-128 = 0 15 ! 82.836732 157.163268 240.000000 322.836732 397.163268 480.000000 562.836732 637.163268 720.000000 802.836732 877.163268 960.000000 1042.836732 1117.163268 1200.000000
